JOB SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of specialised agrochemicals is seeking a dynamic and suitably qualified candidate to coordinate regional marketing activities such as Demonstration days, and Agent & Farmer training days, and to provide technical support to agents, farmers and the Commercial Manager, with the aim to drive sales and the use of digital technologies within the assigned region

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a tertiary qualification in Agriculture or Sciences
Must have AVCASA & BASOS certifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience in agronomy, crop protection, BioSolutions and nutrition will be required
Previous experience in biological products would be preferred
Good communication and presentation skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Driving business support initiatives to reach budget in the region.
Contributing to training programs and product presentations for sales teams, distributors and agents.
Contributing to demonstration trials plan definition and driving trial implementation in the region.
Collecting and presenting data from demonstration trials.
Developing key accounts and a customer data base with key promotion activities.
Conducting commercial trial work on all new bio-stimulant, biological remedies and crop monitoring systems.
Developing, maintaining and advancing digital crop monitoring systems and programs within company strategic plan, such as satellite, drones, weather stations etc.
Providing service and technical support to agents.
Utilising relevant commercial and demonstration trial locations for marketing and demonstration days.
Ensuring up to date knowledge of the markets and submarkets.
Contributing to portfolio positioning strategy and continuous improvement in terms of value proposition statement.
Assisting with the development of product training presentations and promotional material.
Planning product launches and driving execution in the region.
Identifying and suggesting new market opportunities.
Contributing to product pricing strategy, including competitive analysis and differentiation.
Recommending continuous improvement strategies for current labels.
Identifying new uses for current products.
Driving sales of all new products, in conjunction with the regional Commercial Manager.
Providing input into general marketing strategies for the Northwest and Western Free State region.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
