A leading manufacturer in the waste collection and disposal industry is seeking a Technical Mechanical Engineer / Technician to join its production team.

The company specialises in the local manufacture of high-quality refuse compactors and lifting equipment, and is known for its commitment to durability, innovation, and reliable after-sales support.

R15 000 - R30 000 CTC | On Site | Gauteng | Permanent

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and workshop operations.
Proven ability to work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings.
Strong, hands-on problem-solving skills.
Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in vehicle, truck, or heavy equipment manufacturing (preferably in waste or lifting equipment).
Proficient in basic computer systems (CAD experience advantageous).
ECSA registration or eligibility will be advantageous.
Interpret and apply Mechanical Engineering drawings in a manufacturing environment.
Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
Provide technical support to assembly and production teams.
Ensure quality control and adherence to Engineering specifications.
Collaborate with design, production, and service departments to solve Technical challenges.
Assist in testing, commissioning, and fault-finding of completed vehicles.
