JOB SUMMARY:

Technical Sales Engineer (Sandton) SAF Industry

Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Engineering (Pyrometallurgy or Mechanical will be advantageous).

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for assisting national and international sales for the company portfolio. This includes selection and analysis of potential projects, preparation of
tenders and quotations, technical and commercial negotiations with customers. The Technical Sales Engineer coordinates the technical and commercial requirements for such a sales project
internally within the company organisation and therefore needs a good technical understanding of Company products. The Technical Sales Engineer requires a firm understanding of the national & international market and the competitors and therefore needs market knowledge to identify customer’s needs, plan the required process and equipment as well as the required
sub-systems and services.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experience:

Sound experience in sales activities in a project engineering environment. Proven track record of sales strategy formulation.
5 years’ experience in an engineering/project sales environment.
Suitable experience in the fields that company offers products and services in more specifically Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF) and its ancillary equipment and processes.

Knowledge required:

Understanding of SAFs, its components and ancillaries.
Technological advanced and oriented.
Market & commodity trends and competitor knowledge.
Early recognition of potential risks and business impact.
Contract law and management.
Project management.
Risk appreciation and management.
Sales and negotiation techniques.

Skills:

Must have above average computer and technical engineering skills.
Self-starter, ability to work under pressure, results and delivery orientated.
Able to work, travel, negotiate and function alone or as part of a team.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong costing and pricing focus and accuracy.
Innovation in problem solving and creativity with new ideas.
Customer service oriented and organised.
A solid technical background.
