SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Technician Supervisor to join the Engineering Services team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising and managing all engineering operations and projects across the Western and Eastern Cape regions.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance and projects department
Implement and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs
Supervise major equipment refurbishments to optimise asset performance and reduce operational costs
Manage and coordinate project work plans and ensure timely execution
Oversee training and skills development within the team
Ensure all on-site installations and maintenance meet high-quality workmanship standards
Enforce SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk & Quality) compliance across operations
Foster a strong safety culture and eliminate risks to personnel and property

Minimum Requirements

â Matric (Grade 12) with Maths, Science, and English
â N6 and/or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
â Trade-tested Artisan in a related engineering field
â Basic business management certificate
â Registered gas installer (SACGA accreditation) – preferred
â Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a heavy engineering or production environment (preferably in gas or a related industry)
â At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role, leading technicians, artisans, and contractors
â Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and transfer knowledge
â Strong communication skills with experience dealing with suppliers and clients at all levels
â Sound knowledge of SHERQ systems and ISO standards
â Excellent planning and organisational abilities
â Medically fit to work at heights
â Valid Code 08 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
â Willingness to work overtime and travel when required
â Proficient in MS Office for reporting and administrative tasks
