Duties: Architect scalable data platforms utilizing Microsoft Azure technologies including Azure SQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Databricks, PySpark Notebooks, and Dataverse. Lead initiatives to modernize legacy systems into cloud-native architectures. Govern data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with POPIA, GDPR, and internal standards. Enable business intelligence and analytics through Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, and Azure Machine Learning. Support application development and integration by providing architectural guidance for .NET applications and data solutions. Promote automation and DevOps practices via CI\/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated workflows. Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to align technology strategies with business objectives. Mentor and develop talent within the data architecture team. Maintain data quality and observability using tools like Azure Log Analytics, Purview, and Application Insights. Requirements: Proven experience of 7+ years in data architecture or related roles. Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure data services and cloud-native solutions. Proficiency with Power BI, R, C, and data analytics tools. Solid understanding of data governance, compliance, and quality management. Demonstrated ability to lead modernization projects and support application development. Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills.
