JOB SUMMARY:
A South African Business Analytics and Telecommunications giant, is looking for an experienced Software Development Team Lead or Senior Developer (C#), to head their software team based in Johannesburg North. The Tech Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the development and implementation of projects align with business objectives. This candidate will need to liaise with team members, managers and stakeholders (within South Africa and internationally), to ensure delivery of world class solutions to the group of companies, as well as clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will require a strong leader who can come up with new ideas, build applications independently, and drive the implementation of projects, along with the support of the various internal development teams.
Qualifications Required:

Matric / Grade 12
Tertiary qualification: BSc Information Technology / other relevant tertiary qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

7+ years’ software development - not negotiable (C#, .Net Core, MS SQL)
3 + Years experience in a Team Lead or Senior Developer role

Duties and Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

Interpret and execute the company’s strategy into a departmental plan with specific objectives and targets and communicate to the team.
Compile, implement and enforce departmental procedures in support of the business strategy.
Evaluate and optimize departmental systems and procedures in support of the business plan/strategy.
Ensure that the organizational structures and processes contribute to the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.

Operational Duties:

Conduct and chair inter-departmental meetings.
Compile and present new projects, POC’s & reports at MANCO meetings.
Introduce and apply strategic solutions to explicit and implicit business requirements.
Collaborate with the team at strategic level for designing a well-documented implementation approach and procedures that fit the business needs.
Liaise between business and technical personnel to clarify and assist in overcoming implementation obstacles.
Analyze and communicate stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into software requirements at a strategic level.
Address technology or system-related issues by troubleshooting and guiding IT teams.
Provide team with technological solutions to existing business problems, inefficiencies as well as entirely new solutions.
Review completed projects to ensure compliance with standards.
Monitor deliverables and ensure timely, cost-effective completion of projects.

Additional Managerial Duties:

Assist in the recruitment and on-boarding of staff.
Responsible for the development and training of direct reports.
Assist with talent management and succession planning of staff.
Initiate disciplinary action for departmental staff members who are non-compliant to company objectives.
