JOB SUMMARY:
# Sales Representative # Telesales Agents

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Core Purpose
The successful Sales Representative will have to contribute to the organisations goals by
achieving sales through effective contact management, whilst maintaining high quality standards
and ensuring long term relationships with Customers.
Key Role Outputs
- Sell Medical Insurance policies to potential Members
- Assist individuals, and families select the most appropriate policies for health, life, and other insurance products
- Offer casualty, life, health, and long-term care insurance
- Offer Health Insurance policies that cover the costs of medical care and loss of income due to illness or injury
- Advise prospective Member on how to minimize risk
- Seek out leads and new prospective Members
- Maintain reports and records
- Process applications
- Utilize the system to respond to quotes for insurance policies
- Maintain regular contact with Customers
- Answer questions and make changes to existing policies
- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with prospective Members in the
assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organisation’s
products/services
- Telephonically contacting prospective Members to secure new business for the organisation
- Expedites the resolution of Customer queries during the sale of the product
- Plan and organise personal sales strategy in order to successfully sell the product/service
- Stay informed of product applications when changes occur
Qualifications
- Matric Certificate essential
- FAIS compliant4) Advantageous Qualifications
- RE5 is advantageous
Mandatory Experience/Exposure
- Clear criminal record
- No Debarred Applicants will be accepted
Advantageous Experience/Exposure
- Previous Long or Short Term Insurance Industry experience
- Comply with the applicable Fit and Proper provisions as set out by the
Financial Services Board, governing the FAIS Act
Call Centre environment experience
- Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to work according to scripts
- Willingness to learn and improve, ongoing product and other training of relevance will be provided
- Excellent communication skills – fluent in English
- Telephone etiquette
- Clear and confident speaking voice
- Must be a team player, and have the ability to build good relationships, support and actively participate in and contribute to any team initiatives
