The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay is seeking a Trade Account Executive to join our bespoke team.

Minimum Requirements :

Qualifications

  • Matric qualification

Experience

  • Experience in sales and tourism corporations to maximize revenue
  • 2-3 Years’ experience in the same or similar position
  • Must have Opera Experience
  • Must be able to establish customer relationships
  • Communications – must be a strong communicator in verbal and written forms
  • Above average efficiency in Microsoft Excel

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Strategy

  • Liaising with tour operators to ensure that we are receiving the optimum co-operation from strategic partnerships. The results of strategic alliances must be monitored and reported.
  • Maintaining contact with tour operators and travel agents to ensure that they are aware of packages that are on offer.
  • Important Trade Updates (ITU) or Newsletters to be sent out in order to provide information of specials, property changes, new additions etc.

Key Account Management

  • Relationships to be established and maintained
  • Open communication maintained
  • Efficient follow-up and service delivery
  • Product Training conducted according to VNL standards
  • Rates and special offer details to be documented and managed
  • VNL Trade details to be kept up to date on any marketing material/tools (brochures, agent websites)
  • Liaising with tour operators and travel agents on what they need from company i.e. special rates, value adds etc. in order to improve general sales
  • Training conducted according to V&L standards
  • Pro-active business planning and strategizing with clients
  • Maintain details of key accounts support/sales

 

Customer Relations

  • Relationships to be established and maintained
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and excellent communication skills
  • Adopting a “can do” attitude with regards to customer enquiries
  • Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints

 

Trade Marketing

  • Ensure the following tools are utilised efficiently assisting in the marketing to the Trade/Sales:

Ease of access to rates, support, ease of access to availability, value adds where required to the benefit of both parties, Incentives with approval, Property visits are encouraged and conducted professionally, marketing collateral and information readily available to clients. Property Site inspections with clients are conducted professionally.

  • Trade Shows and Workshops attended to according to sales strategy. Village N Life to be represented in a professional manner
  • Management of marketing collateral required to market to the trade
  • Management of brochure contributions according to marketing strategy and budget
  • Maintaining VNL Trade Instagram account as well as representing VNL on personal social media
  • Assistance in recognizing any potential opportunities to market to the trade within media and publications relevant to the trade market, attributing to a sustainable marketing strategy (advertising and PR) to the trade.
  • Administration of brochure contributions according to marketing stagey and budget.

Administration

  • Maintaining of trade website
  • Mailer distribution (information and specials) to database
  • Updating Trade Fact Sheets

 

Management of Trade website (

  • Approval of all new STO applications on website
  • Updating all relevant systems (Opera) with new approved applications which includes creating profiles with relevant business details, adding relevant rate codes, adding relevant notes
  • Personalized communication with each application to establish their product interests.

 

Educational Stays and Site Visits

  • Management of trade educational stays and site visits
  • Communication to relevant parties at the property of educational stays and site visits

Product Knowledge

  • Property Knowledge of all Village N Life Trade products
  • Knowledge of Policies and Procedures at each products
  • Sub Brands

Basic details/terms of sub-brands within the Village N Life portfolio

  • Superior product knowledge is vital

Trade Strategies

  • Package development where required in the market
  • Ensure the communication of all trade related rates and offers in conjunction with Travel Support Manager

Promotions

  • Recognising opportunities and requests for promotional offers to the trade

Internal Communications

  • Exco & Staff
  • Specialists
  • All levels of revenue posts.

External Communication

  • Public and trade enquiries
  • Third Party sales and tourism organizations

General

  • Creating revenue growth through managing relevant industry partnerships
  • Providing training and excellent customer service to enhance existing relationships
  • Pro-actively sourcing new relationships outside the existing sales channels
  • Ensure annually update trade contracts with top suppliers including details on rates, allocations, value adds and reservation terms and conditions
