Trading Specialist (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

The main purpose of the job:

• As the Trading Specialist, you will be responsible for the growth of the trading division
• Trading Customers will vary from industry, including mining and agriculture to heavy industry, and will contact you via telephone, email, or walk-in to the public counter
• Our client is looking for a self-motivated, “hands-on”, highly energetic individual, who is able to connect well with customers over the phone and present a friendly, helpful face to walk-in customers
• The individual should be enthusiastic, service orientated, and willing to provide solutions to the customer’s need

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Quoting on all items outside of the standard products
• Taking calls from customers and recommending appropriate products
• Quoting prices to customers off published price lists and requesting pricing
• Co-ordinating order delivery between different customer locations
• Relationship building with buyers and customers
• Ensuring accuracy and correct execution of quotations and delivery of products
• Completing various reports
• Completing administration requirements and paperwork
• Inspecting and loading orders
• Invoicing of orders

Qualifications and parameters:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Previous buying/trading experience will be advantageous
• Must be able to read and write at an advanced level in English.
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be immediately available
• Ability to learn and adapt on the job
• Good arithmetic skills – will perform calculations in excel
