SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a Transport Asset Manager to join their team

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

Advice on truck specifications and all requirements during truck/trailer purchases

Manage, maintain and schedule the full maintenance lease with vehicle suppliers

Manage breakdown maintenance

Manage tyre maintenance including the onsite contractor

Ensure trucks area always, roadworthy, licensed and registered

Ensure annual Foodgrade audit is done

Fuel consumption management per truck and per driver

Manage fleet audits - Daily Controller debrief and once a month detailed fleet audit

Manage the full transport insurance claims process – Post accident, injury, asset and spill investigation

Manage the daily vehicle availability of trucks to planner

Arrange transport and logistics with vehicles services

Sign off all direct and variable cost maintenance purchase orders

Manage cost in accordance with budget

Manage the washing schedules of all vehicles

Budget and forecast for all maintenance and fuel

Driver Management

Recruitment and onboarding of staff

Daily manage of staff in accordance to SOP

Handle all driver disciplinary and corrective measures with HR

Plan annual driver leave in accordance with peak periods

Ensure drivers daily requirements in place:

Ensure driver understand when to report for work.

Ensure driver understand the schedule and on time load requirements.

Matric

Minimum 3 – 5 years in a Logistics Environment

Tertiary Qualification in Logistics / Road Freight would be an advantage

Cold Storage experience would be advantageous
