Transport Coordinator

SUMMARY:
Purpose of the role:
As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible to effectively communicate to internal staff and transporters on any delays or issues experienced in the supply chain process such as congestion on the roads, breakdowns, re-routing, etc.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Monitor WhatsApp groups and respond in real time
• Inform problem/issues to the relevant department or transporters
• Ensure scanning issues are resolved on Nimbus
• Ensure that communication is maintained with all transporters and staff
• Coordinate, monitor and record all communication from various sites
• Create and maintain register on all issues per site, transporter, FEL downtimes, etc.
• Report to coal ops on extended waiting periods at the port, weighbridges, mines, etc.
• Be the first contact in case of emergencies
• Inform relevant key stakeholders within the company of emergencies
• Ensure ticket system is maintained and updated at all times

• A Grade 12 (Matric)
• Tertiary qualification is preferred
• 2years experience in a logistics or transportation environment
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of logistics software systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong computer literacy skills
• Ability to work shifts
