JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of the Position

The Transport Manager is responsible for managing, planning and coordinating Transport operations, which includes loading, delivery and driver management.

The Key Functional responsibilities of the Transport Manager includes but is not limited to:

Financial Responsibility:

· To ensure that all cost incurred is maintained within budget.

· Present and report monthly financials.

Operational:

· Delivery Schedule Management to ensure effective and efficient execution of all deliveries.

· Do route management for optimization and do tracking of vehicles and deliveries according to schedules.

Work Experience and Qualifications - Required

· Grade 12 with Higher Grade Math

· Tertiary Diploma / Degree / Qualification

Applicant must have union experience as well as NBCRFLI.

5 – 7 Years in the following areas:

Transport Management
Shift Management
People Management
Disciplinary Enquiries
Health & Safety Management
Contingency Planning & Management
Best Practice / Continuous Improvement Management
Management of transport of multi temperature stock items
Management of complex, multi-site, multi-disciplinary, multi-culture organizations.
Integrated strategy formulation and execution within large organizations of 250 plus employees

Computer Literacy Required

· MS Office ( PowerPoint, Projects, Word, Outlook)

· Advanced MS Excel Skills

· Advanced System Skills capabilities - with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
