Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client.
Seeking a highly skilled UC Engineer to design, implement and support enterprise voice and unified communications solutions across complex customer environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, development, maintenance and optimisation of networking and communications infrastructures, ensuring secure, scalable and reliable service delivery.
This role requires deep expertise in VoIP technologies, PBX platforms, voice gateways and unified communications environments, coupled with the ability to provide technical leadership, solution guidance and strategic input to both technical and business stakeholders.
POSITION INFO:
FORMAL EDUCATION Grade 12 (NQF 4) Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information and Communication Technology or a related field will be advantageous EXPERIENCE Experience in telecommunications service support, delivery or field support environments Extensive experience with PABX and Voice Gateway technologies, including AudioCodes and SBC solutions NEC IS3000 experience is essential NEC 3C experience is essential Strong working knowledge of VoIP production environments and traditional PBX platforms including NEC IS3000, SV and Mitel Exposure to Routing and Switching, Unified Communications (UC), VoIP, Video Conferencing (VC) and IP Telephony (IPT) technologies Ability to present complex technical concepts to management and executive stakeholders Experience guiding advanced diagnostics, fault finding and incident resolution across voice technologies Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Server environments, LAN administration and server maintenance will be advantageous SBC and Fortinet Firewall experience will be advantageous Technical field support experience within large corporate environments will be advantageous TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS A+ N+ VoIP-related certifications will be advantageous KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Engage with pre-sales teams to develop competitive networking and communications solutions Design and architect enterprise-grade VoIP and Unified Communications environments Provide expert technical guidance on solution viability, scalability and operational fit Lead advanced problem management activities in line with ITIL principles Establish monitoring, event management, incident logging and reporting mechanisms Develop and maintain operational processes and procedures for voice services Review and validate technical solution proposals prior to customer submission Recommend appropriate technologies and solutions based on business requirements Ensure technology solutions remain aligned to customer objectives and evolving business needs Provide support across multiple client environments when required Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and service enhancement projects KEY COMPETENCIES Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong leadership and mentoring capability Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical information Quality and customer-focused approach to service delivery Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective planning, organisation and time management Information gathering and research capability Results-driven with strong customer orientation Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams Strong networking and relationship-building skills Adaptability and resilience in high-pressure environments Strong presentation and reporting skills WHY APPLY?
