SUMMARY:
Urgently seeking an experienced and qualified Neonatal ICU Unit Manager for the NICU/PAED ward in the East Rand. The Unit Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practice within a multi-disciplinary team.

POSITION INFO:

Successful Candidates Must Have The Following:

B Cur Degree or Degree in Nursing Science and relevant management qualification
Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) (compulsory)
Must be NICU trained (compulsory)
Must have BLS Certification (compulsory)
Minimum 5yrs exp in private/public hospital
Must be Advanced Computer Literacy
Excellent Leadership and management skills
Ability to communicate effectively
High quality control with strong attention to detail
Good interpersonal and patient care skills

Key work output and accountabilities:

Ensure that the unit is providing safe, cost effective quality patient care in line with the clinical governance strategy of the hospital and evidence based practice
Evaluate the patients’ journey via patient experience and stakeholder contribution
Evaluate and monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
Promote health and wellbeing of patients and employees
Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered to
Implement group quality initiatives
Liaise with public liability with regard to all incident of potential risk to the business
Unit manager will be accountable and responsible for coordinating capacity building, mentoring, coaching, training and development in his/her unit.
