SUMMARY:
VMware Systems Engineer to be based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town (R 620K pa, CTC).

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a leading digital transformation solutions company is seeking to URGENTLY appoint dynamic and highly competent VMware Systems Engineer to be based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town (R620K pa, CTC).   

 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• Responsible for VMware system administration support at customer site.
• Deliver new infrastructure in support of initiatives, projects, monitoring and optimization of implemented systems.
• To provide technical support services such as daily administration tasks, design, planning, installation, modification and maintenance to the client, in alignment with the Company’s standards.
• Operates closely with customer to determine requirements and resolve problems. Co-operates with sales and support personnel on customer requirements and needs.

MINIMUM KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 with Maths & Science (Required)
• Tertiary Education in the ICT industry (Preferred)
• Tertiary qualification in IT technical field (Essential)
• ITIL Foundation certified (Advantageous)
• VCP or similar qualification for VMware (Essential)
• Bachelor''''s degree in computer science, information systems or a related study. (Advantageous)
• Have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in ICT, with at least 4 years in
• VMware System administration (Required).
• Experience in administering enterprise-scale ESX environments.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines / under pressure

• Proactive Support and Administration of the Clients Enterprise-scale ESX environment.
• Planning/Reporting
• Contribute to projects, planning and implementation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices.
• Track ESX hardening progress against CVEs.
• Track/Adapt/Improve
• Identify Initiatives
• ESX Security Hardening as and when new CVEs released.
• Resolve Service Affecting Incidents & RCA’s to completion.
• Continuous Monitoring and improving the of support services.
