Veterinary Services Specialist - Midrand

Requirements:

• B. V.SC / DVM degree.
• At least two years working experience (Poultry and Poultry production experience will be an added advantage).
• Strong Computer literacy skills on MS Office (Intermediate level). Specifically PowerPoint and Excel would be added advantage.
• Fluent in English.
• Valid driver’s license and own motor vehicle required.
• Ability to operate independently as well as part of a team.
• Willing to travel long distances within South Africa and neighbouring countries.
• Strong work ethic.

Main Activities:

• Implementation of the Company Global Protection Services locally
• Perform field surveys in support of Company’s Poultry vaccines
• Technical product support to the poultry team and Company customers
• Client education and training on Company Products and aspects of poultry production
• Company Global Protection Service database management
• Client feedback regarding survey and monitoring results in the form of PowerPoint

Presentations.

• Troubleshooting management
• Conducting scientific and commercial trials to demonstrate the value of Company

products.

• Key Opinion Leader management
• Liaise with Zone and Global veterinary services personnel concerning problems and

Opportunities.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Ensure product leadership, create a high internal and external level of confidence in the

product:

• Implement the local customer plan based on the national strategy and guidelines.
• As first contact on the field, implement effective market support, follow-up the products deployment and generate evidence on products success.
• Review and update the plan of every customer during monthly meetings with teams and managers.
• Collaborate on the conception of technical articles.

1. Customers’ needs and relationship continuous improvement:

• Maintain relationship with customers through regular visits, events or calls.
• Collaborate with all local teams to ensure execution of the plan.

1. Customer guidance, advisory and troubleshooting:

• In case of customer''s troubleshooting, demonstrate responsiveness by ensuring immediate visit and taking necessary actions.
• Conduct customer visits and provide professional consultation and communicate on weekly/monthly based on the monitoring results and on a yearly basis for more detailed meetings.
• Provide technical and scientific advice to customers and sales personnel.

1. Training, education, and knowledge management:

• Attend continuous training delivered by corporate, congress, seminars, and events in his expertise area.
• Self-train on new technical updates to maintain a high level of expertise and share the knowledge with the team.
• Develop training on technical activities with the aim to share knowledge with customers.
• Train a local team to support them with the customers.

1. Collecting and reporting on customer’s feedback (data results, success stories, new

issues…):

Ensure valuable monitoring of the products by receiving, collecting, and analysing samples from the customers.

• Share the collected information with the customer and stock the information in the tools for later projects.
• Ensures the quality of data.
• Give continuous feedback to the manager on achievements, problems, or recent customers updates.
• Communicate activity protocols and trial results to colleagues.
• Use disease awareness and monitoring results to collectively look at disease trends and provide bi-annual feedback to local and corporate teams.

1. Scientific expertise management and network:

• Maintain network with Animal Health institutes, labs, universities, key opinion leaders and suppliers of equipment, to stay abreast of new technologies.
• Deliver diagnosis and expert support on demand.
