Qualifications / Requirements:

  • National Matric Certificate
  • Proven successful sales track record
  • Related Degree or Diploma in Logistics / Warehouse / Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in warehousing and distribution
  • Minimum 5 years middle or senior management experience
  • Experience in FMCG / distribution industry is preferred
  • Previous experience in Syspro or a related ERP system is essential
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Manufacturing / production experience
  • SKILLS:

- Manufacturing / production / planning

- Experience on Syspro / SAP / MS Office / Excel

- Ability to work under pressure

- Numerate

- Communicate in English and Afrikaans

- Experience in FMCG warehousing and distribution

- Previous experience and knowledge of customer care or customer service environment

- Ability to create and manage warehouse processes / skills in inventory control and management

- Good knowledge of management methods and techniques

- Awareness of industry’s latest technology trends and applications

- Ability to think strategically

- Strong client-facing and communication skills (customer service focused)

- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills

- Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse best practices

- Financial and analytical capabilities to plan budgets, monitor inventory, assess data, and create reports

- Deadline-Oriented

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Planning and organizing

Key Performance Areas:

  • Complete warehouse operations and production line, the delivering of a professional, helpful, high-quality assistance before, during and after the customer’s requirements are met
  • This is a function where procedures are essential in encouraging responsiveness to our client’s needs and finding methods to support the company’s goals
  • Managing and overseeing all warehouse operations to ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost
  • This will involve overseeing team performance, expediting the receiving and shipping of goods, and ensuring efficient, organized storage

Management of the following activities

  • SYSPRO:

- Amend and update bin locations

- Stock take generation

  • Stock:

- Booking in of stock

- Request of stock adjustments

- Asset management-loss prevention

- Processing of non-stock orders

- Credit notes

- Allocation of consignment stock

- Process exceptions to receipt of products and communicate to supply

- Monitoring of GIT (Goods in transit) stock

- Communication with supply regarding stock issues from suppliers

  • Cycle counts and stock takes:

- Printing and capturing of cycle counts

- Investigate count variances

  • Finance and admin:

- Casual payments

- Control of branch petty cash

- Freight allocation

- Manual orders

- Conduct any ad-hoc tasks

- Apply company policy and procedures

- Creation of Capex for asset purchases

  • Housekeeping:

- Ensure clean work environment

  • Customer Care:

- Improve customer service experience, create engaged customers

- Take ownership of customers issues and follow problems through to resolution

- Set a clear mission and deploy strategies focused towards that mission

- Develop service procedures, policies, and standards

- Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions

- Analyse statistics and compile accurate reports

  • Warehouse/Distribution:

- Manage and maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures

Ensure the implementation and adherence to company policies and procedures

Set distribution goals, plans, and manage distribution operations to achieve set goals

Control resources and utilize assets to achieve targets

Maintain strict inventory control and ensure that inventory integrity is correct (cycle counts/stock takes/reconciling of data)

Oversee daily routes and improve route plans to ensure timely deliveries

Maintain an orderly workflow according to priorities

  • General:

- Training of staff and monitoring their performance and progress

- Develop and monitor procedures for the health and safety and security of the work environment and all goods

- Manage the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment

- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implement new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement

- Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met

- Maintain inter‐departmental collaboration and communication

- Stay updated on legislation and requirements for warehousing, shipping and material handling and ensure that our warehouse complies

- Adhere to and manage the approved budget

- Develop cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity and quality

  • Sales:

- Consistent meeting and exceeding of sales target

- Driving sales and market share by promoting brand building

- Accurate reporting of sales activities and market related issues

- Abiding by EH&S policy principles
