SUMMARY:
Our client based in Johannesburg is looking for a Warehouse Manager to manage the activities of the Received Goods Warehouse and its staff to meet customer delivery requirements through the receipt, issue and control of inventory

POSITION INFO:

  • Matric (Secondary School Certificate)
  • Degree or diploma in Purchasing, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with some of that at supervisory level
  • Experience in warehouse management

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time ordering of required meters and accessories from Company, South Africa
  • Manage Customs clearance of imported goods (using clearing agents)
  • Arrange batch-testing of MAP projects meters by NEMSA according to project plans
  • Ensure timeous delivery of goods to the correct customer in alignment with Projects and Commercial plans.
  • Manage the activities of receipting, picking, issuing, packing, marking, and shipping stock.
  • Monitor and manage the interface with Company-SA shipping agent to ensure that all shipments are delivered to the correct address at the specified rate and required delivery times.
  • Ensure that the stores layout and storage requirements meet the health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain and control access to the stores area for authorised personnel only.
  • Ensure that all equipment is serviced and maintained in the correct condition for serving activities in this area.
  • Ensure that all staff are correctly trained and licensed to operate equipment in this area as required by their positions.
  • Ensure that all delivery information is entered into SAP system and ensure that POD documentation is reconciled and filed.
  • Co-ordinate with Logistics and Commercial on all exports shipments to ensure that the correct packing, marking, and shipping conditions are met.
  • Investigate and correct stock discrepancies.
  • Perform periodic cyclic counting of stock to ensure accuracy of inventory levels.
  • Ensure that Sub Contract components quantities are verified and despatched with authorised manual delivery note.
  • Ensure that Company’s delivery vehicle is used cost effectively.
  • Follow up on customer queries and ensure corrective action is implemented.
  • Act as SAP team leader for the processes which are required in area of responsibility.
  • Provide Commercial and logistics weights and dimensions for tender and quote purpose.
  • Ensure reporting done timeously for SIOP and weekly basis.
  • Ensure all export shipments conform to all relevant regulations
  • Responsible for the inspection and validation of shipments prior to loading of vehicles
  • E Develop and lead an effective skilled team with an emphasis on customer service, team culture and team objectives and undertake regular communication to ensure information is delivered in a timely manner
  • Support the development of a greater focus on and understanding of commercial considerations and imperatives amongst staff
  • Develop and train staff to ensure staff have and maintain appropriate skills
  • Work within the team to achieve shared goals and targets
  • Maintain communication within the team and positively contribute to a committed, capable and motivated team
  • Set operational and/or performance goals which are challenging, achievable and tied to long-term goals
  • Monitor performance against performance goals to ensure that progress is being made
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to ensure that priorities are clear and coordination is good
  • Ensure the day-to-day management of staff is undertaken and staff are fully conversant with the standard required
  • Ensure the individual development program is undertaken within the time frame set, and that employees’ professional and skills development needs are provided to Human Capital for training purposes
  • Ensure employees are appropriately rewarded and recognised for their performance
  • Ensure the safety of employees is paramount and that Health, Safety and Environment systems and processes are followed to minimise risk
  • Ensure departmental compliance to Company’s SHEQ management systems
