Warehouse Manager

Our client, based in Coega, Port Elizabeth, is seeking to employ an experienced, organized, committed and hard-working Warehouse Manager to their dynamic team. 

Experience in the fresh food / fruits industry is essential / non negotiable.

Experience and Qualifications  :

• Tertiary qualification preferred but not essential
• Experience in warehouse managing / supervising essential
• Experience in the fresh food / fruits industry is essential

Duties and Responsibilities  :

Forklifts:

• Servicing of forklifts arranged 1 week prior to actual service date
• Ensure forklifts are in good working condition at all times
• All forklifts to be charged on night shift in order to be ready for the next day
• Ad and remove forklifts as the busy season start and ends. Manage according to projections of incoming fruit.
• Plan drivers according to production shifts and arrivals

Pallet Jacks:

• Allocating pallet jacks to each department
• Managing the forklifts in general by basic services and repairs where needed

Waste:

• Arrange collection of waste and ensure correct documentation is made out for every removal
• Oversee every bin of waste tipped and ensure that the waste is actually waste and not usable raw material.

Bins/crates:

• Oversee bin/crate washing shifts, procedures and arrange to correct amount of staff for each shift.
• Insure there are enough crates/bins available for production when needed.
• Forecast the empty bins per week in order to return bin rentals on time

General:

• Keep the Yard and warehouse clean, organised and tidy at all times.
• Selling, recycling and removal of old pallets, boxes, plastic etc.

Fruit sorting & Sizing:

• Oversee the sorting process and ensure the fruit sorted is done so correctly

Loads receiving and sending

• Ensure that all loads offloaded and loaded agree with the documentation being sent or received.
• In other words, the bin total, type of bin, batch code and type of raw material must agree with the documentation.
• Arrange transportation and removal of Raw material from Storage as per picking list made out by the raw materials inventory manager.
• All necessary documentation given under instruction of management must be completed for every load.

Accidents:

• Complete a full report must be done for any accidents/incidents that may occur that includes the date, description, person/s involved and reason.
• Also find possible solutions to prevent a similar event taking place in the future.

General

• Throughout the year different departments have busy times.
• Keeping order, arranging forklifts and staff must be done accordingly.
