Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee operations in Port Elizabeth. This role requires a hands‑on leader with a proven track record in freight, warehousing, and transport, capable of driving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong supervisory skills, operational expertise, and the ability to manage teams, processes, and resources in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities: Manage expenditure through cost‑effective resource allocation. Prevent damages, losses, claims, and penalties. Ensure equipment, facilities, and consumables are maintained and serviced on time. Adhere to policies, procedures, and client SOP\/SLAs. Respond to internal queries within 24 hours and submit ad hoc rates\/quotes within 2 hours. Oversee reporting, tracking, rework control ( Maintain housekeeping, OHS compliance, and timely incident reporting. Monitor stock on hand (SOH), cycle counts, BI reports, and container yard checks. Ensure accurate import\/export processes, stack date adherence, and demurrage\/detention compliance. Stand in for Depot\/Admin Supervisors when required, oversee toolbox talks, training, and team deliverables. Skills Required: Strong supervisory and leadership ability. Effective verbal and written communication. Proficiency in computer systems and commercial arithmetic. Ability to prepare professional correspondence and reports. Teamwork and customer service excellence. Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and independent decision‑making. Budget management and cost control. Coaching and development of team members. Requirements: Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in a warehouse environment. Background in freight, warehousing, and\/or transport industry. Knowledge of general purchasing procedures, seafreight, and bond store operations. Familiarity with SARS procedures in LCL environments. Port operations experience. Proficiency in warehouse management systems. Thorough understanding of import\/export procedures. In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
