Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor that is practical and hands-on, supporting both the Relocations and Records Management warehouses. The position is responsible for ensuring that customer goods and records are received, stored, captured, handled and dispatched accurately, safely and professionally.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the day-to-day organisation, cleanliness, safety and effective use of warehouse space. Receiving, checking, labelling, storing, retrieving and dispatching household effects, pallet boxes, records boxes and other items. Ensuring goods and records are handled carefully, correctly stored and accurately identified for traceability. Assisting with loading, unloading, moving, organising, housekeeping and general warehouse duties. Operating the forklift safely and assisting with routine equipment checks. Conducting stock, storage and housekeeping checks and reporting missing items, damage, hazards or maintenance concerns. Completing warehouse documentation and accurately capturing client, shipment, inventory and movement information on relevant systems. Using email, Microsoft Office and Teams confidently and maintaining organised records. Assisting with local client collections and deliveries when required and representing the company professionally at client premises. Building positive relationships with customers, drivers, crews, subcontractors, suppliers and colleagues. Coordinating daily warehouse activities, allocating work and guiding employees and service providers to ensure safe and timely completion. Supporting both Relocations and Records Management teams during busy periods, leave or staff absence. Following and reinforcing health and safety, security, quality and operational requirements and reporting incidents or potential risks. Protecting confidential client information and maintaining appropriate controls over stored records and customer property. Identifying potential customer needs and referring relevant service opportunities to the appropriate team. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 \/ Matric. Valid Code 10 driver's licence and forklift operator's licence. Relevant experience in warehousing, logistics, removals, relocations, storage, records management or a similar operational environment. Supervisory or team-coordination experience would be advantageous. Computer literate with working knowledge of email and Microsoft Office. Good spoken and written English with professional communication skills. Physically able and willing to work in a hands-on warehouse environment, including loading, moving, housekeeping, collections and deliveries. Reliable transport and residence within reasonable travelling distance of Philippi. A qualification or training in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, operations or health and safety would be advantageous.
