SUMMARY:
DBN000261 -  Warehouse Supervisor – Cape Town - Northern Suburbs

Purpose of the Job:
Making sure the business's operations run as efficiently, economically, legally, and with a dedication to providing top-notch services, as possible.
 

Required Qualifications:

1. Matric pass
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehousing and logistics
3. Computer Literacy – MS Word, Excel, Email and Teams
4. Forklift competency advantageous
5. Must have Timber/Board experience - not negotiable

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience:

1. Stock damage reporting
2. Spreadsheets recording truck and forklifts repairs and maintenance etc.
3. Ensuring the operational side of the business is operating at optimal efficiency, cost effectiveness, compliance and commitment to 1st class service delivery
4. Inventory management – strict adherence to goods movement processes
5. Receipting of stock, despatch, product labelling, repackaging, weekly cycle counts, damage control and reporting etc
6. Warehouse, equipment and fleet maintenance
7. Supervise warehouse staff – handling of product, housekeeping, repackaging, product labelling, training, safety gear
8. Logistics and planning – daily load and route planning
9. Delivery note and pod control
10. Managing transport costs by negotiating with 3rd party transporters for best rates and services, vehicle and delivery tracking
11. Ensure layout of warehouse is optimized for best possible use of space and access to product within compliance regulations
12. Supervise the destuffing of containers, track container updates and communicate to all concerned, daily, weekly and monthly reporting of destuffing
13. Quarterly stock take preparation and counts

1. Ability to quickly understand new businesses and operational models

4. Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
