POSITION INFO:

A product company going for market leadership in the retail analytics space is seeking an Intermediate Android Developer to join their rapidly growing company as they move into new territories.

You will be expected to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch” and use RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.  Your role will include understanding business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

Key Skills:

• IT related Qualification
• 5+ years of experience in mobile development
• Highly skilled using Kotlin, Java
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK
• Restful APIs
• Android UI design
• CI
• Google Android design
• Cloud Message API’s

Duties:

• Understand different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and standard methodologies
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Familiarity with continuous integration

Reference Number for this position is SJ52482. This is a permanent position based in Johannesburg offering a cost to company salary of R850k PA negotiable on experience and ability.
