SUMMARY:
A financial Institution in the centre of Pretoria has a CONTRACT position for a 3 MCITP Accredited Project Engineer.

NQF Level 5 or IT Diploma
Minimum 5 years EUC technical support work experience
CompTIA A+
ITIL Foundation or Higher. Certification and working knowledge
MCITP Accredited, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Certified IT Professional or Equivalent
Apple''s ACMT (advantage)
MS 365: Modern Desktop Administrator or Foundation
3+ years IT experience with client, server, and network service delivery
HDI Desktop Advanced Support Technician (Advantage)

As with any technology solution there is a need to perform continuous improvements on technology solutions to stay relevant and ensure optimization of solutions and remaining abreast with industry standards.
 
Standardisation
 
We have multiple Windows builds and various Microsoft OS in the environment which makes it difficult when rolling out patches, and new solutions. We require knowledgeable resources that will address current challenges in an innovative way and prepare the environment for Windows 11.
 
50% of our ticket volumes are due to recurring issues, there’s a need to have skilled people who will take the time to investigate, research, to find a permanent fix in collaboration with impacted technology owners.
 
Issues span from MS365, VPN, VDI, Password and account lockouts, machine crashes when applying certain patches, outdated image, multiple Windows Build and OS. A deep analysis of tickets is a continuous activity for which must be performed by the required roles in order to identify recurring problems and work with 3rd line support to find a solution.
 
Test and recommend sustainable technical solutions to implement sustainable zero touch
Perform root cause analysis of complex repeatable incidents
SARB Ways of Work Project
Update image on monthly basis and address customer complaints (improve customer experience)
Technology life cycle management (decommissioning AIO, sanitisation, testing of Windows 11 compatibility with 200 business applications)
Test and deploy “ways of work” sub projects new solutions namely Thousand Eyes and JamF
Create Knowledge articles for 1st and 2nd level support, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate and contribute to deliver Enterprise, Divisional and EUC projects.
Execute assigned project related tasks on time with high quality
Test and recommend sustainable technical solutions to implement sustainable zero touch
Perform root cause analysis of complex repeatable incidents
Update image on monthly basis and address customer complaints (improve customer experience)
 
Technology life cycle management (decommissioning AIO, sanitization, testing of Windows 11 compatibility with 200 business applications)
Test and deploy “ways of work” sub projects new solutions namely Thousand Eyes and JamF
Provide escalated technical support for Tier II Technicians
Contribute in the testing, development of training material, Methods of Procedures (MOPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with new products, services, and equipment.
Compose FAQ’s, document solutions, and knowledge base items.
Review knowledge base documentation prior to publication.
Collaborate with internal 3rd line support teams or vendors to execute your work and escalate where necessary.
Continuously document and review recommended best practices to aide in continuous improvement and decreasing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
Conduct research on end-user devices in support of standardization
Participate in training, coaching and development of others.
Perform any assigned tasks related to EUC scope of work.
