SAGE X3 Implementation Lead (Finance and Procurement)

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Sage X3 ERP Systems Implementation Lead to drive the successful implementation, configuration, integration, and adoption of Sage X3 across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have gained direct Sage X3 implementation experience either: Working directly for Sage on Sage X3 deployments; or Working for an accredited Sage business partner , or similar Sage implementation consultancies. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of: Sage X3 technical and functional expertise ERP systems implementation experience Systems integration knowledge Business process optimisation capability Stakeholder management skills Project leadership experience Working closely with Business, Finance, Procurement, Operations, IT teams, and external implementation partners, the successful candidate will lead the project through requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, user adoption, and post-go-live support. Key Objectives ERP Implementation Delivery Successfully deliver a fit-for-purpose Sage X3 solution aligned to business requirements and operational objectives. Ensure implementation milestones are achieved within agreed scope, quality standards, timelines, and budget. Drive best-practice ERP implementation methodologies throughout the project lifecycle. Systems Configuration & Integration Ensure Sage X3 modules are correctly configured to support business processes. Lead integration activities between Sage X3 and other business applications. Ensure system architecture supports scalability, performance, and future business requirements. Governance & Compliance Ensure appropriate system controls, workflows, approval structures, and governance standards are embedded within the solution. Support compliance with audit, security, and organisational governance requirements. Data Integrity & Reporting Lead data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities. Ensure accuracy and consistency of master data and reporting outputs. Improve overall reporting capability and information reliability. User Adoption & Change Management Promote stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams. Support training, knowledge transfer, process documentation, and user adoption initiatives. Ensure sustainable long-term system utilisation. Key Responsibilities Sage X3 Implementation Leadership Lead the end-to-end implementation of Sage X3. Act as the primary Sage X3 systems subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate activities between business users, IT teams, implementation partners, and vendors. Ensure project deliverables meet business and technical requirements. Requirements Analysis & Solution Design Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders. Conduct fit-gap analyses and identify optimal system solutions. Translate business requirements into system configurations and functional specifications. Review and approve solution designs proposed by implementation partners. Recommend process improvements and system optimisation opportunities. System Configuration & Functional Design Lead configuration of Sage X3 modules according to business requirements. Oversee workflow design, approval matrices, and system controls. Ensure configuration decisions align with organisational standards and operational objectives. Validate system functionality against business processes and requirements. Systems Integration Work closely with technical teams to define and manage integration requirements. Support integration between Sage X3 and third-party applications. Ensure data flows, interfaces, and reporting structures function effectively. Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of integration issues. Testing & Go-Live Management Develop testing strategies, scripts, and test plans. Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Coordinate issue logging, defect resolution, and retesting activities. Assess go-live readiness and support deployment planning. Lead post-implementation hypercare and stabilisation activities. Data Migration & Governance Oversee data extraction, cleansing, migration, validation, and reconciliation. Establish master data governance standards and ownership structures. Ensure data accuracy and completeness prior to deployment. Change Management & Training Drive stakeholder communication and change management initiatives. Develop process documentation, user guides, and training materials. Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and support user adoption. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Act as the primary liaison between the business and Sage implementation partners. Coordinate project activities across internal departments and external vendors. Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation processes. Provide regular project status updates to leadership teams. Compliance & Audit Readiness Ensure implemented processes comply with organisational policies and governance requirements. Support internal and external audit activities related to ERP controls and system processes. Maintain appropriate documentation for compliance and governance purposes. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelorâs Degree or Diploma in: Information Systems Computer Science Information Technology Business Information Systems Engineering Business Management Or a related field Relevant Sage X3 certifications will be highly advantageous. Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in ERP implementation, ERP consulting, systems analysis, business systems, or ERP project leadership roles. Proven experience implementing Sage X3 ERP solutions. Experience gained directly through Sage or accredited Sage business partners such as SynergERP, T3T Solutions, or similar organisations is highly preferred. Successful delivery of at least two full Sage X3 ERP implementations or major ERP rollouts. Experience managing ERP projects from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilisation. Experience working with business stakeholders as well as technical development and integration teams. Demonstrated systems-focused rather than purely finance-focused implementation experience. Experience with ERP integrations, workflows, system controls, reporting, and data migration activities. Remuneration A market-related salary package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications, Sage X3 implementation expertise, technical capability, and relevant project experience.
