JOB SUMMARY:
A leading group of companies in the management of Plant Breeder Rights on a worldwide basis is currently looking to employ an Accountant. This is a contract position for 6 months, with the possibility of permanent employment.
Based in Stellenbosch, the job incumbent will support the group accountant with the daily financial requirements of the group of companies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN DUTIES:

Supporting the group accountant daily with all group related accounting & bookkeeping activities, local and international.
Assisting with the South African companies daily bookkeeping during the 6 month period;
Reporting to the group financial manager as and when required;
Assist with any related activities typically forming part of an accountant’s job description.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Com / BCompt or similar degree in accounting;
Completed SAICA and or SAIPA articles.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Pastel Accounting including inventory, multi-currency, multi-store modules;
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
Foreign Exchange knowledge relating to day to day treatment of such transactions;
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to follow through tasks, take initiative and use own judgement as required from time to time
Good Communication skills
Logical Thinker
Good understanding of accounting principles and double entry system.
Proficient in English & Afrikaans
