SUMMARY:
Our client, a wellâestablished Veterinary (VET) industry leader based in Midrand, is seeking a detailâdriven and technically strong Accountant. This opportunity is ideal for a professional who has completed SAICA or SAIPA articles and gained solid postâarticles experience, preferably within a regulated, productâdriven environment such as VET, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will support the full finance function and ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational support in a fastâpaced and regulated VET environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full accounting function up to trial balance
Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
Perform and review debtor, creditor, bank, and general ledger reconciliations
Maintain and manage the fixed asset register in line with company policies
Support monthâend, quarterâend, and yearâend close processes
Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with VET industry standards
Support cost control initiatives, budgeting, and forecasting
Ensure financial records align with industry regulations, internal controls, and SOPs
Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to monitor stock, costing, and product/batchârelated financial data

Minimum Requirements:

BCom Accounting degree or equivalent
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
1–3 years’ postâarticles experience
Experience in the VET, FMCG, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environment (advantageous)
Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
Advanced Excel skills and experience with large accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and analytical problemâsolving skills
