SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading group with diverse interests is seeking the expertise of an Accountant to join their team – based in Gqeberha

POSITION INFO:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

BCom Degree OR Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting related role
2+ years commercial experience
Working knowledge of Pastel and MS Office; advanced Excel
Applicants must have experience in interpretation and use of GAAP
Valid drivers’ license
It is preferred that applicants currently reside in Port Elizabeth

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate would be required but not limited to:

Execute daily tasks and work instructions according to relevant Procedures and instruction from the Group Financial Manager.
Ensuring accurate monthly financial reporting and deadlines are achieved; maintaining accurate sets of accounts up to trial balance/ bank reconciliations
Analysing and evaluating accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts, etc.
Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accurate completion and analysis of cash flow forecasts
Monitoring of wages and preparing actual versus required wage summaries
Responsible for producing annual budget income statements
Investigating and resolving variances between month-to-month actual figures, and actual and budgeted figures
Analysis of management accounts and providing solutions to variances against budget or abnormal trends
Responsible for coordinating the audit process and ensuring financial audit preparation
Ensuring stock take procedures are adhered to
Ensuring timely completion of statutory returns
Attending to ad hoc duties as required by management; liaising with personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, and maintaining quality standards at all times
