About the Position

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, tax compliance, audits, and supporting accounting functions across multiple branches and subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to financial management.

POSITION INFO:
Typical Duties Coordinate accounting functions and related financial programs. Prepare accurate and timely financial analyses, management reports, and accounting schedules. Prepare consolidated financial reports incorporating information from multiple branches and subsidiaries. Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of annual budgets. Maintain, review, and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Assist with annual audit planning, preparation, and supporting documentation. Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, control weaknesses, and instances of non-compliance. Prepare and submit tax returns and related tax schedules. Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax legislation, and internal financial policies. Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of accounting systems, processes, programs, and procedures. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as required. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Matric\/Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required . Minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience; experience within the motor industry will be advantageous . CA(SA) qualification or progress toward CA(SA) will be advantageous. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel . Working knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation . Strong understanding of financial accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls. Valid Code 8 driver's licence . Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Proactive approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
