JOB SUMMARY:
The role of a financial accountant involves overseeing the financial accounts of a company, by keeping track of, and reporting on a company’s financial transactions. The accountant makes certain that the financial books are prepared accurately, that all aspects of the company’s finances are properly documented and that all statutory rules and regulations are adhered to.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
Completed Saipa articles.
A valid driver’s licence.
Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
Experience with Syspro (Advantageous).

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Maintain General ledger and sub-ledgers.
Monitor and control CAPEX.
Understand and ensure the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Preparing and maintaining important financial reports
Conduct forecasting and risk analysis assessments.
Perform monthly reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts.
Oversee the creditors function.
Co-ordinate and assist with the internal and external audit process.
Assist and provide input with annual budgeting process.
Preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
Preparing tax returns, such as VAT, PAYE and ensuring that taxes are paid timeously
