SUMMARY:
Role Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial standards, tax laws, and internal controls. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting processes, preparing tax submissions, and ensuring adherence to internal and external audit standards.
This position offers a hands-on opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to key accounting functions while providing commercial insight and maintaining strong governance practices.
 
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain and update accurate records of all financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile financial accounts and verify entries for accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare and file VAT and corporate tax returns.
• Remain informed on changes in tax legislation and ensure organisational compliance.
• Assist with external and internal audits by compiling relevant financial documentation.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitoring of expenses.
• Support forecasting activities and provide input for financial decision-making.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and areas of financial risk.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure data integrity.
• Conduct internal financial audits and enforce compliance with accounting standards such as IFRS and GAAP.
• Support commercial decision-making through risk analysis and financial insight.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a finance or equivalent accounting role.
• Understanding of risk management and accounting processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word) and ERP systems (e.g., Navision).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail with high standards of accuracy.
• Sound decision-making and time management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
