Actuarial Analyst

SUMMARY:
This opportunity offers exposure to IFRS 17 reporting, SAM regulatory requirements, and broader corporate actuarial functions within a dynamic life insurance environment. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across valuations, capital management, reserving, and financial reporting while working alongside a high-performing actuarial team.

POSITION INFO:
The role is ideally suited to a student Actuary looking to deepen their technical actuarial expertise within life insurance. The successful candidate will be exposed to complex actuarial modelling, reporting processes, and strategic actuarial initiatives within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and analysis of IFRS 17 valuation results Support calculations relating to Contractual Service Margin (CSM), Best Estimate Liabilities (BEL), and risk adjustment Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS 17 reporting processes Perform reconciliations between IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 results Support SAM regulatory capital calculations and reporting Assist with Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) processes Contribute to stress testing and scenario analysis Assist with statutory and management valuations of life insurance liabilities Analyse experience variances, including mortality, lapse, and expense investigations Support assumption setting and basis reviews Provide actuarial input into financial reporting, planning, and forecasting Support embedded value (EV) and economic capital calculations Assist with actuarial modelling enhancements, validation, and documentation Automate and improve actuarial processes where possible Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field Minimum 6 actuarial exams completed Experience Required: Exposure to life insurance actuarial functions advantageous Understanding of life insurance actuarial principles Exposure to IFRS 17 and\/or SAM frameworks beneficial Experience working with actuarial models and data analysis advantageous Knowledge of valuations, reserving, or capital management processes advantageous Exposure to financial reporting within insurance environments beneficial Skills Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent numerical and technical skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment Proficiency in Excel Programming experience in VBA, R, Python, or SQL advantageous Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines effectively Proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn For more exciting Actuarial and Analytics vacancies, please visit: I also specialise in recruiting in the following: Actuarial: Life, Short-Term, Health, Pensions, and Quantitative Data & Analytics: Data Scientists, Data Analysts (Python, R, SQL, Machine Learning) Risk: Credit Risk, Market Risk, Model Risk, and Operational Risk Analysts Pricing: Specialists in Insurance and Financial Products AI & Machine Learning: ML Ops, NLP, Predictive Modelling Data Scientists Quantitative: Experts across Banking, Insurance, and FinTech If you have not had any response in two weeks, please consider the vacancy application unsuccessful.
