Analyst - Data Governance

SUMMARY:
We require an Analyst in Data Governance to work for a contract role.

POSITION INFO:

• POLICIES, PROCESSES, STANDARDS AND PRACTICES:
• Create enterprise-wide policies, processes, standards, controls and practices for Data Governance, in line with the Data Governance Framework.
• Responsible for the implementation, application and adoption of policies, processes, standards, controls and practices by members of Data Services, Data Delivery and the enterprise as a whole.
• Review, update and maintain enterprise-wide policies, processes, standards, controls and practices for Data Governance.
• Communicate and guide proper governance and stewardship practices, policies, procedures, standards and the implementation thereof using existing or new toolsets.
• Quantify and measure enterprise Data Governance and Data Management adoption and adherence by the business; including suggesting and taking remedial action where required.
• Collaborate with Lead: Data Governance to plan specific projects, initiatives or pilots.
• Co-develop delivery plans specifying objectives, resourcing and scheduling.
• Identify risks and compile contingency plans to meeting deliverables.
• Co-direct the activities of resources to ensure initiatives progress according to the agreed schedule and within budget requirements.
• Organize and facilitate relevant Data Governance related meetings.
• Prepare status reports and keep stakeholders informed of Data Governance constraints and dependencies which may impact delivery.
• PROVISION OF SPECIALIST GUIDANCE, KNOW-HOW AND EXPERTISE WITHIN DATA GOVERNANCE:
• Actively participate in the creation of shared knowledge and expertise and common identity across the Enterprise.
• Engage in continued professional development and research activities in order to stay informed of Data Governance and portfolio specific best practice, developments and changes.
• Mentor, coach and provide guidance on leading practice control requirements to the Data Steward community.
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to resolve queries and escalated issues from the business.
• Proactively identify, propose and motivate improvement and efficiency opportunities for the portfolio and Data Optimization and Governance in general.
• STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND COORDINATION:
• Build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate activities to achieve Data Governance objectives and embed enterprise-wide data governance policies.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide specialist Data Governance guidance and support.
• Responsible for educating stakeholders so that they understand their responsibilities regarding portfolio specific Data Governance and also the Data Governance & management framework in general.
