Application Support / Ops Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Application Support/ Ops Engineer to oversee the installation and maintenance of software applications. The duties include optimising software application performance, installing updates, and performing debugging procedures and to ultimately monitor and maintain the efficiency of our software applications.

Location: Johannesburg ideally (open to a discussion)
Initial 12 month contract
Level: Strong intermediate – Senior

• Good knowledge using T-SQL and Database management; Networks, DNS, IIS, Windows Server; Coding languages would be advantages I.e. C#, JavaScript, Angular.
• Ability to document configuration changes and monitor performance.
• Ability to provide front-end support to internal departments and web-based clients.
• Banking experience is beneficial

• Providing software application support
• Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.
• Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
• Consulting with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.
• Follow proper Release Management processes
• Establishing the root causes of application errors and escalate serious concerns to your TL.
• Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
• Application testing
• Application rollouts (release management)
• Infrastructure configurations and rollouts
• 3rd party management
