Architectural Technologist

SUMMARY:
Architectural Technologist required for our Client who provides the highest quality and holistic support of building services engineering (initial idea, planning and operational implementation with series products to tailor-made system solutions) i.e. architectural technology.  We are seeking a dynamic and outgoing candidate who will strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to engage confidently with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders. This role requires someone who understands architectural technology, can communicate design concepts effectively, and is able to influence and "sell" innovative solutions to clients.  The position will be based in Midrand, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:
BIM and Revit-based Product Specification: Objective: Utilize BIM and Revit technology to promote, specify and integrate architectural hardware products into project designs. Key Responsibilities: Create and maintain Revit families for architectural hardware support. Integrate product data into BIM models to support project specifications. Develop hardware schedules and specification documentation from Revit models. Ensure hardware products are accurately represented within BIM environments. Assist architects and consultant with the implementation of hardware solutions in Revit projects. KPIs: Number of projects specifying company products through BIM\/Revit. Accuracy of hardware schedules and BIM data. Number of Revit families developed and maintained. Increase in product specifications generated through BIM engagement. Architectural Hardware Specification and Technical Support: Objective: Promote and secure the specification of company architectural hardware products. Key Responsibilities: Prepare project-specific hardware schedules and technical specifications. Recommend compliant hardware solutions for architectural projects. Provide technical support to architects, interior designers, contractors and developers. Ensure product compliance with SANS, building regulations and project requirements. KPIs: Value of projects specified. Specification conversion rate to sales. Compliance of specifications with applicable standards. Reduction in specification revisions. Sales Development and Project Acquisition: Objective: Increase sales opportunities through specification selling and project engagement. Key Responsibilities: Identify and track project opportunities from concept to completion. Engage with architects, developers, quantity surveyors and contractors. Drive project specifications toward company hardware products. Support the sales team in securing project orders. KPIs: Achievement of annual sales targets. Number of new projects secured. Sales revenue generated from specifications. Growth in project pipeline. BIM Coordination and Design Collaboration: Objective: Ensure architectural hardware requirements are incorporated during the design and coordination process. Key Responsibilities: Participate in BIM coordination meetings. Coordinate hardware requirements with architectural, structural and MEP teams. Identify design clashes affecting hardware installations. Resolve technical issues before construction. KPIs: Number of coordination issues resolved. Reduction in site-related hardware conflicts. Timely resolution of design queries. Successful hardware integration within coordinated BIM models. Product Promotion and Professional Engagement: Objective: Increase awareness of the company's architectural hardware solutions within the design community. Key Responsibilities: Conduct CPD presentations and technical workshops. Demonstrate BIM-ready product solutions to architects and consultants. Promote Revit libraries and BIM content to the market. Participate in industry exhibitions and networking events. KPIs: Number of CPD presentations delivered. Number of architects and consultants engaged. Downloads\/utilization of Revit families. Leads generated through promotional activities. Client Relationship and Stakeholder Management: Objective: Build strong relationships with key decision-makers influencing specifications. Key Responsibilities: Develop relationships with architects, designers, developers and contractors. Respond to technical queries promptly. Provide ongoing support throughout project lifecycles. Conduct regular client visits and project reviews. KPIs: Client satisfaction levels. Client retention rate. Response time to technical enquiries. Number of repeat specification opportunities. Technical Compliance and Quality Assurance: Objective: Ensure all hardware specifications and BIM content meet quality and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate BIM data and Revit content. Ensure compliance with SANS standards, fire regulations, accessibility requirements and project specifications. Conduct technical reviews of documentation and schedules. Maintain product certification records. KPIs: Zero major compliance failures. Quality audit compliance. Accuracy of BIM content and documentation. Successful project approvals. Reporting, Pipeline Management and Continuous Improvement: Objective: Manage project information effectively wile improving BIM and specification process. Key Responsibilities: Maintain CRM, project databases and specification registers. Track specification opportunities and project status. Report on sales forecasts and project pipelines. Continuously improve BIM content, Revit families and technical processes. KPIs: Accuracy of project pipeline reporting. Percentage of specifications converted into sales. Number of BIM\/Revit improvements implemented. Achievement of reporting deadlines. Key Success Indicators: Annual sales target achieved. Specification value secured. Number of projects incorporating company hardware products. Growth in Revit\/BIM-based specifications. Increased utilization of company Revit families. Client satisfaction and retention. Successful conversion of specifications into revenue.
