SUMMARY:
The asset management specialist will be responsible for management of the operational co-ordinators, stock controllers and fleet co-ordinating resources to ensure work is executed in accordance with defined standards, contractual and service level agreements and also drive optimal asset levels in the distribution facilities in accordance with Inventory management principles to ensure cost effectiveness of the entire operation.  This includes exploring and seeking various workable commercial frameworks, work in collaborations with all the departments in reviewing, scrutinizing and developing efficient and effective systems and process flow

POSITION INFO:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1.
Monitor and ensure on time service delivery as per Asset Management guidelines, SLA''s or as agreed with Client in line with the contract.
2.
Pro-actively interact and engage with Operational Management to understand areas of improvement and ensure that turn-around times are shortened to continuously improve customer satisfaction.                               
3.
Ensure relevant feedback, information and reports are prepared, submitted and presented to various stakeholders on all aspects of service delivery and profitability.
4.
Pro-active management of all applicable SAP system statuses relating to material within acceptable/contracted aging timeframes.
5.
Leading, facilitating, developing and implementing relevant asset management process improvements to achieve SLA targets and drive down costs continuously.                   
6.
Monitor the productivity of all Human Capital allocated to operations and the department and ensure that all human capital and other resources operate efficiently.  Effectively deal with non-performance and behavior which might jeopardize company standing with the Client and or does not support company values and strategies.
7.
Ensure IMS compliance, Health & Safety is a primary function and all mechanisms, processes and procedures are in place, monitored and adhered to always.
8.
Ensuring through Supply Chain that the region has competent and diligent service providers to utilize in cases of third party asset provisioning as well as emergencies and that such service providers are compliant with the company BBBEE strategy, contractual deliverables as well as all associated processes and procedures.
9.
Coaching, mentoring and counseling of staff not performing to the required standards and ensuring that employees improve on performance gaps highlighted during informal sessions and performance appraisals.                                           
10.
Ensure the proactive management of awaiting material, other asset management control measures, WIP, GRIR, open POs and other key metrics within the area of responsibility ensuring no ageing beyond 90 days are experienced for items under the control of Bidvest Facilities Management.
 
                                               
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Higher Education & Training
National N Diploma, S Diploma or Degree in Asset/Commercial/Facility Management or Engineering Studies
OR  Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Resource Planning / Logistics
Professional Registration/Trade
 
School Grade
Matric / Grade 12
Licenses
Valid code 8 SA driver’s license
Experience
Minimum 5 Years in Management position with exposure to planning and scheduling including exposure to Logistics /Inventory Management. Ideally have exposure to SAP maintenance management system or any other Automated Maintenance management System
