Assistant Accountant

Superb career opportunity with large logistics group for experienced Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Manager you will be responsible for:

Responsible for day-to-day administration and maintenance of investment program and project systems.
Responsible for executing settlements for month end closing
Responsible for providing weekly cash flow input in respect of capital and opex projects
Responsible for the maintenance of fixed asset registers for the CCS division
Responsible for checking income and expenses before month end
Responsible for Inventory Management and reporting
Responsible for the preparation of journals that are valid, complete and accurate to be processed in the General Ledger
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations (including monthly VAT reconciliations)
Assists with the preparation of financial analysis with commentary to close off the reporting month
Assist with the preparation of input schedules to statutory returns (Income Tax and VAT)
Assist in the preparation of financial statements
Preparation of audit schedules in preparation of the external and internal audit

Qualifications and experience

BCom Accounting or National Diploma in Accounting or studying towards BCom Accounting or National Diploma (in second year of studies)
4 years + relevant experience in a finance position
Excel ess and SAP adv
