JOB SUMMARY:
Assistant Buyer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We urgently looking for a permanent resource .

FMCG sector - Established company based in the South Of Joburg seeks a suitable incumbent to join their Procurement Team as a procurement assistant /administrator with a stable track record. Preferably from the FMCG sector

Must have at least 1- 2 years working experience as a assistant Buyer - with a mathematical foundation .

Potential fro growth

Qualifications

Diploma in Procurement / supply chain or 1- 2 year similar relevant discipline would be advantageous

Specific Skills (Technical):

Computer literacy (Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel and Word) and Windows).
Minimum 1 - 2 years working experience in a Financial/Procurement System
Stock buying preferably in FMCG space
Mathematical ability -

The successful applicant must:

Be fluent in spoken and written English
Have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
Have strong planning, organizing and time management skills
Be able to work independently as well as be a team player
Be able to multi-task effectively
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be self-motivated, by taking an interest in the job, and obtaining satisfaction from the achievement of a job well done

Responsible

Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services
Continuously source for more cost – effective supplies and services both locally and internationally
Provide support and assistance to the Procurement Manager
Preparation of relevant documents for Authorization as per the mandates set in the
Procurement Policy and Procedures.
Ensure prompt ordering and delivery.
Reconciliation experience would be advantageous.
Following up on and resolving outstanding Orders on the Outstanding PO report.
