JOB SUMMARY:
Do you have finance experience in FMCG, Distribution or Warehousing where you have been assisting management in a hands-on role which is system driven?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s growing, ever changing, organization that requires your financial as well as system driven acumen to assist with implementing new systems and changes that are currently in process.
The role is assisting the Financial Manager on financial strategy, operational performance, financial reporting, setting up & optimizing internal controls, team management & development, capital expenditure review & developing productive relationships with 3rd parties.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS

Matric, Degree in Finance, Accounting & a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA) would be beneficial
English skills: excellent verbal and written communication is required.
Min 5 years exp, computer literate, including systems implementation & knowledge
Track record of driving finance performance
Strong technical accounting, finance & taxation skills
Preparation, review, analysis & presentation of management reporting
Extensive Knowledge of internal controls
Knowledge of budget and forecast process
Team Management, with ability to meet tight deadlines & coach team
Ability to communicate with stakeholders at various levels

DUTIES

Assist the financial manager overseeing financial performance in the business and indirectly responsible for the accounting department
Preparation of monthly management reports, forecasts, annual budget & other finance reports, monthly balance sheet reconciliations & supporting other finance operations
Assist in establishing strong internal controls for all revenues and expenses and protection of assets
Ensure the business operates as a centre of excellence and is a leader in all financial best practice for internal controls and system optimisation
Assist in leading the financial input into the formulation and implementation of the Strategic Plans and Budgets, forward forecasts etc.
Play a critical role in assisting with maintaining accurate and timely financial and operating information and provide analysis, interpretations, and projections
Assist in Maximising cash flow performance of the business
Taking dual responsibility with financial manager for the professional development of all Finance staff.
Identifying training needs and supporting staff to attend training
Ensure performance appraisal process and career development plans are managed to deliver strong financial performance from all finance team members
In collaboration with HR Department or service provider, assist by providing the technical input into the recruitment and selection of Finance team members
Dealing honestly and fairly with clients, customers, suppliers and financial partners establishing mutually beneficial relationships.
Proactively keeping up to date on industry & technical accounting, finance & taxation matters
Ensure that the reporting timetable deadlines are met.
With the Financial manager, manage and ensure that statutory reporting is in place
