Overview

As the Assistant Financial Manager for this Accounting Practice, you will be responsible for assisting companies, trusts, foundations, and high net worth clients to manage their day-to-day financial operations.

This small but established company is ideally looking for an individual who will fit into this flat structure, someone who is friendly, happy to work onsite and be understanding of the growth limitations due to the company size.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCompt Accounting or equivalent
• Strong tax knowledge
• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience
• Completed Articles required
• Technical proficiency in CaseWare, Accpac and Pastel

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation, processing, and maintenance of full accounting records for numerous companies and trusts
• Processing of payments on banking system
• Processing of cashbook on Accpac and Pastel
• Invoicing of customers on monthly basis
• Follow up on outstanding debt
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation and review of audit files
• Drafting of annual financial statements for the group
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assist in administration, eg, insurance for houses, ordering of stationary etc.
• Submission of VAT 201
• Reconciliation of intercompany loan accounts
• Preparation of interest schedules on loan accounts
• Processing monthly general journals
• Monthly reconciliation of recovery of expenses (electricity & water)
• Management and control over petty cash
• Investigate investment options
• Maintenance of FICA for the Group of companies and directors
• Assist with the design and implementation of systems of internal controls and procedures and maintenance of these controls
• Perform certain secretarial tasks for the CEO
• Completion and submission of company tax returns and provisional tax returns on a timeous basis
• Tax Compliance and Tax Planning of the Group which include Companies, Trusts, Foundations, and Individuals
• Annual tax return submission of all Company, Trust and Individual Tax Returns on SARS E-Filing
