SUMMARY:

A well-established national firm, expanded into De Waterkant, is seeking a committed and empathetic Family Law Specialist to join their growing team.

This role plays a vital part in supporting clients through complex and often sensitive family matters, requiring a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and care.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

Relevant legal degree with 3–5 years of post-qualification experience
Solid experience gained within a law firm, including legal research and investigative work
Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements and documents
Proven track record of success in a legal advisory or practitioner role
Strong expertise in conducting detailed legal research on complex matters
Demonstrated experience representing organisations in legal proceedings, negotiations, and mediations
Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and maintain legal documentation and records
In-depth understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the role
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

DUTIES

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements
Provide strategic legal advice and support to management and internal departments
Conduct in-depth legal research to inform business decisions and ensure legal compliance
Represent the company in legal proceedings, including court cases, negotiations, and mediations
Develop, implement, and monitor legal policies and compliance frameworks
Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulations, advising on their impact to the business
Conduct legal risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
Supervise and mentor junior legal staff, offering guidance and oversight where required
Respond promptly to legal queries from various departments across the organisation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the legal aspects of business projects and initiatives
Maintain accurate and organised legal documentation and records
Participate in ongoing legal training and professional development to stay abreast of industry trends

Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
