The Audit Senior is responsible for supporting the Audit Department by taking ownership of audit sections, leading audit fieldwork, coordinating workflows, and liaising with UK managers to ensure audits are delivered accurately and on time.

  Audit Senior (UK) Take ownership of UK audit engagements while working closely with a UK-based accountancy firm from Cape Town. Location: Gardens, Cape Town | Working Arrangement: Full-time Office Based | Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (UK Hours) | Salary: R50 000 - R60 000 per month ABOUT OUR CLIENT Our client is a UK-based accountancy firm providing audit services to UK clients. The Audit Department delivers high-quality audit services remotely from South Africa, working closely with UK-based managers and directors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of client engagements. The successful candidate will work as part of the Audit Department, supporting UK audit engagements while maintaining compliance with audit standards and internal procedures. THE ROLE: AUDIT SENIOR (UK) The Audit Senior is responsible for supporting the Audit Department by taking ownership of audit sections, leading audit fieldwork, coordinating workflows, and liaising with UK managers to ensure audits are delivered accurately and on time. The role also involves managing client communication, maintaining audit documentation, coordinating fieldwork activities, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead audit fieldwork to ensure testing is robust, complete, and aligned with audit risk plans. Monitor audit progress and provide updates to the Audit Manager or Director. Maintain clear, cross-referenced audit documentation to support audit conclusions. Take full ownership of assigned audit work and ensure it is ready for manager review. Manage day-to-day client information flow, including chasing outstanding information and clarifying queries with the UK team. Highlight delays or client-related blockers to the manager at an early stage. Support audit planning, progress, and wrap-up meetings. Coordinate daily workflow during audit fieldwork. Maintain workplans, sample trackers, and outstanding items lists to provide real-time visibility. Ensure adherence to internal procedures and external compliance requirements. Report directly to the Audit Manager and\/or Director. Follow company policies, including equality, anti-discrimination, confidentiality, and health and safety. Report incidents or concerns, regardless of size. ABOUT YOU Minimum 5 years'' audit experience. ACA or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified. Strong UK audit experience. Ability to lead audit fieldwork, manage timelines, and liaise confidently with clients. Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Clear understanding of excellent customer service in client retention. Ability to maintain professional client relationships. Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to see tasks through to completion within agreed deadlines. Ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively and manage time efficiently. Emotional intelligence to manage self and interactions with others. Experience with UK clients is highly advantageous. Familiarity with UK accounting standards and IFRS. Understanding of the firm''s sector makeup, service offerings, and goals. Ability to act as a role model for team behaviour. High ownership with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
