SUMMARY:
On the hunt for a Back-End Software Engineers in Cape Town!

POSITION INFO:
For engineers who prefer APIs to interfaces and scalability over styling, this role lets you build and scale mission-critical systems that run under the hood. You'll architect services, refine queries, and optimize backend logic in a modern .NET environment, working with a team that respects both speed and structure.

You'll deploy cloud-ready solutions, build microservices that talk nicely to each other, and dig into the performance metrics that make-or-break scale. If you thrive on efficiency, uptime, and intelligent system design - this is where your backend muscle will matter.

Duties:

Design, build, and maintain robust APIs and backend services using C# and .NET.
Implement scalable microservice architectures aligned with software best practices.
Ensure efficient data management using SQL Server and performance-tuned queries.
Provide second-line support and troubleshoot complex production issues
Collaborate with other engineers to maintain high standards across the codebase.
Document system flows, logic, and architecture for team visibility.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Deep understanding of object-oriented design and backend development practices.
Strong C# and .NET proficiency with a focus on system design and scalability.

Experience:

3–5 years of experience in backend-focused software engineering roles.
Proven ability to design APIs and data models that support complex business logic.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
Hands-on experience with performance profiling and service monitoring.

Skills & Competencies:

Comfortable with asynchronous messaging, caching strategies, and security principles.
Detail-oriented with high code quality and unit testing standards.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Proactive, reliable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced Agile team environment.
