Company and Job Description:
An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a highly organised and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives on accountability, enjoys working independently, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities.

If you are confident managing the full bookkeeping function from transaction processing through to trial balance and have a strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial controls, I would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Financial Operations

Manage the full end-to-end bookkeeping function with minimal supervision
Maintain accurate financial records across multiple legal entities, including international entities
Process and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
Prepare accounts up to trial balance level
Ensure all daily financial transactions are processed accurately and timeously

Month-End & Reporting

Support and execute month-end close activities
Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, provisions, and month-end journals
Maintain trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Investigate variances and provide clear explanations
Identify and escalate financial risks, discrepancies, or anomalies proactively

Reconciliations & Financial Controls

Perform reconciliations for:

Bank accounts
Creditors and debtors
VAT
Payroll control accounts
Intercompany accounts
Suspense and clearing accounts

Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger

Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with auditors, finance managers, and internal stakeholders
Prepare and provide audit-ready supporting documentation
Communicate financial information clearly and professionally

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping experience
Proven experience managing bookkeeping across multiple entities
Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance level
Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes and controls
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations
