SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Accountant Team Lead to join a multinational organisation operating across Africa. This role is suited to a technically strong finance professional with proven leadership experience, SADC cross-border reporting expertise, and the ability to drive financial compliance, reporting accuracy, and operational excellence.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established international business with a significant footprint across Africa. They are seeking an Accountant Team Lead to oversee financial reporting, taxation, inventory accounting, and compliance activities across multiple entities while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of two in accounting
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across SADC entities.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and internal reporting requirements.
Oversee SARS income tax, VAT, and statutory submissions.
Drive month-end, year-end, and audit processes.
Manage inventory, warehousing, and stock accounting controls.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and strengthen financial controls.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance and reporting.
Leverage SAP HANA to enhance reporting efficiency and data integrity.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Relevant Accounting or Finance qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or finance leadership role.
Proven experience managing cross-border reporting within the SADC region.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
Experience with SARS income tax and VAT compliance.
Exposure to warehousing, inventory, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
Advanced SAP HANA experience is essential.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
