Brand Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Brand Manager to lead and grow their premium brand. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or qualification, at least 5 years’ experience in brand management, marketing, or premium/luxury retail, and a strong understanding of premium consumer markets, digital marketing, sales, and brand development. Experience in furniture, interiors, homeware, property, hospitality, fashion, automotive, or a similar premium/luxury industry will be highly advantageous. The role is based in Brackenfell, Cape Town, and requires regular travel.

Proven experience in successfully developing and growing a brand. Strong understanding of luxury and premium consumer markets. Proven digital and social media marketing experience. Strong commercial and sales understanding. Experience working with agencies, suppliers, designers, and creative teams. Excellent relationship-building and networking ability. Strong presentation and communication skills. Excellent written and verbal English. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Experience with CRM, digital marketing, and social media platforms. Ability to analyze market data, sales performance, and campaign results. DUTIES: Brand Strategy & Market Positioning: Develop and implement the South African brand strategy and market-entry plan. Establish a clear luxury positioning and compelling brand identity within the South African bespoke luxury furniture market. Build brand awareness and create a strong market presence from the ground up. Identify target markets, customer segments, and opportunities for growth. Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Ensure the brand remains positioned as exclusive, aspirational, premium, and design-led. Develop strategies to differentiate the brand from mainstream furniture competitors. Luxury & Lifestyle Marketing: Position the brand within the luxury lifestyle market rather than competing purely on price. Develop relationships with luxury hotels, lodges, restaurants, estates, premium residential developments, and private clients. Identify opportunities within the luxury property, hospitality, and architectural markets. Build relationships with interior designers, architects, decorators, and landscape designers. Establish strategic partnerships with complementary luxury brands. Attend and coordinate industry exhibitions, launches, design events, and networking opportunities. Create memorable brand experiences that reflect the quality and exclusivity of the product. Sales & Commercial Growth: Work closely with the sales team to develop strategies to generate qualified leads and increase revenue. Identify new business opportunities and target markets. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and strategic accounts. Support the sales team with product knowledge, presentations, and marketing material. Assist in developing showroom and customer experience strategies. Track sales performance and identify opportunities to improve conversion. Understand customer buying behavior and use market intelligence to influence the sales strategy. Develop initiatives to increase brand visibility and drive showroom traffic and enquiries. Digital & Social Media: Take ownership of the brand's digital presence. Develop a strong and visually compelling social media strategy. Manage platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other relevant channels. Develop content that showcases the furniture within aspirational luxury living environments. Manage digital advertising campaigns and monitor return on investment. Work with agencies, photographers, designers, and content creators where required. Monitor engagement, website traffic, enquiries, and digital lead generation. Brand Experience: Ensure that all customer touchpoints reflect the brand's luxury positioning. Maintain consistency across showroom presentation, website, social media, marketing material, and customer communications. Assist with visual merchandising and showroom displays. Ensure products are presented in a sophisticated and aspirational manner. Develop customer experiences that appeal to discerning and high-net-worth customers. Ensure the brand experience is consistent with international brand standards. International Brand Management: Liaise with the international brand\/principal on brand guidelines, product launches, campaigns, and marketing requirements. Ensure the South African operation remains aligned with the global brand identity. Coordinate the introduction of new collections and products into the local market. Provide the international brand with market feedback and South African consumer insights. Adapt international marketing strategies appropriately for the South African market.
