POSITION INFO:

My client is a well-known Insurance Corporation that is seeking for a Business Development Manager for their Engineering Insurance Department. My client is the premier, proactive commercial risk specialist in South Africa. Their operations in South Africa and Botswana are a recent addition to the Fairfax Financial Holdings portfolio. The history of my client’s South African enterprise can be traced as far as the 1800s. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, develop and grow a designated panel of Brokers, retain existing business, and generate new business opportunities, produce a Sales a plan on how to identify and manage prospects, ensure adherence to the Regional Teams Sales plan, provide technical underwriting expertise, minimize underwriting and negotiable leakage.

Minimum qualification requirements and skills:

Qualification (Matric (Grade 12) or any other relevant qual)
Engineering insurance Industry experience with strong presence in the Broker community
Comply with Industry Regulatory requirement (RE)
Sound understanding and knowledge of South African Insurance market as well as sales experience
Maintain up to date knowledge of local markets and industry sectors
Solid business acumen
Extensive local travelling and must have a valid driving license
