Business Development Manager (BDM): Infrastructure | Natural Resources – Western Cape

R540 000 to R720 000 Per Annum Negotiable based on Qualification and Years of relevant experience

Further to this, you are an excellent writer with the ability to review and contribute to proposals written by subject matter experts. 

The role reports into the Business Lead.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide the business with intelligence, strategic content and positioning advice to win work in line with the company’s growth strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Relevant Degree or Tertiary Education
• 5-10 Years’ new business development experience gained with proven understanding of the public sector and donor funding tender response handling processes
• Consulting experience gained within the Infrastructure / Natural Resources arena is essential
• Excellent networking skills is required and coming with an established network would be highly advantageous!
• Working exposure to CRM / ERP systems and business development tools is required
• Experience in developing marketing collateral
• Experience gained in developing and managing BD budgets for projects
• Experience gained in both the local and international market would be advantageous!

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, create and maintain relationships and partnerships that will be key to new business acquisition and growth
• Identify, drive and consistently review opportunities that could leverage the business
• Create marketing material for business development activities
• Build strategically positioned business development content
• Advise practices on selection and approach to achieving winning bids
• Input and maintain information on business development systems and tools (e.g. CRM; opportunities portal; credentials database)
• Analyse tender results and provide intelligence to business on adjusting business development approach
• Advise business on tender quality improvement and implement solutions to address
• Work closely with practices and business to understand practice focus areas and identify opportunities aligned to focus areas
• Keep abreast of trends in global and regional agendas and stay up to date with sector discourses and associated work
