SUMMARY:
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
Kimberley, Northern Cape
Our client, a leading fresh produce business and Africa’s largest onion producer, is seeking a commercially astute and strategically focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This pivotal role will oversee the full financial function of the business and play a key role in strategic planning, risk management, and operational performance. Based at state-of-the-art facilities near Kimberley, the CFO will help drive long-term growth and sustainability across our diversified agricultural operations. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all aspects of the financial function, including financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Board and executive team, providing insightful financial analysis and risk guidance
- Oversee financial systems and controls, including the rollout of a new cloud-based ERP system
- Manage preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards
- Supervise external audit processes and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies
- Drive the company’s annual budgeting process and ensure effective budgetary control
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team aligned to business objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and key external stakeholders
- Deliver accurate, real-time management accounts and business performance dashboards
- Identify cost-saving and profit improvement opportunities across the business
- Support operational teams with data-driven insights to guide decision-making
REQUIREMENTS: - Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification is essential
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior financial management or executive role
- Sector experience in agriculture, FMCG, or food production is highly preferred
- Demonstrated success in financial leadership within a complex, operationally intensive environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and Jet Reports (advantageous)
- Proven track record of managing teams, delivering strategic initiatives, and driving operational efficiencies
