Project: Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Construction
Pro Personnel is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Civil Supervisor for an exciting Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction project within the mining and energy sector.
POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating civil construction activities, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, within project timelines and in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards and applicable regulations. Minimum Requirements National Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Minimum of 7 years' experience in civil construction and project supervision. Proven experience working on industrial, mining, processing plant or energy projects. Demonstrated experience supervising civil contractors and multidisciplinary construction teams. Strong practical knowledge of earthworks, excavations, concrete construction, foundations, drainage and underground services. Experience in surveying, setting out, quality inspections and construction testing. Sound understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, safety regulations and site procedures. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate civil construction contractors and daily site activities. Oversee earthworks, excavations, trenching, backfilling, compaction and road construction. Manage concrete works, including foundations, slabs, plinths, reinforcement, formwork and equipment bases. Supervise drainage systems, stormwater infrastructure, cable trenches and underground services. Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and monitor contractor performance and workmanship. Enforce health, safety and environmental requirements in accordance with applicable construction regulations. Coordinate surveying, setting out, levels and dimensional control. Oversee construction inspections and testing, including soil compaction and concrete quality testing. Monitor project progress, productivity, resources and construction schedules. Identify construction delays, technical challenges and project risks, and implement appropriate corrective actions. Manage construction punch lists, non-conformances and quality-related issues. Maintain accurate site records, daily progress reports and construction documentation. Support equipment installation, commissioning activities and final project handover. Advantageous Qualifications and Experience Previous experience on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction projects. Experience with equipment foundations and associated civil infrastructure. Additional qualifications or certifications in civil construction supervision. Occupational Health and Safety qualifications or relevant training. Key Competencies Strong leadership, supervision and contractor management skills.
